‘…To you has been given the secret of the kingdom of God, but for those outside everything is in parables; so that they may indeed see but not perceive, and may indeed hear but not understand…’

1β. A key from mythology ?

The mythology of the Labyrinth provides a unique symbolism of the trapping of the human mind and emotional world by the erroneous perception and usage of words. The unprepared human mind that inevitably struggles to create a perception of the world through words of unclear and changing in-time significance, nails the human existence at the position of the prey for the Minotaur. The legend, however, wants Theseus able to break free by using the Ariadne’s clue. A fixed point at the entrance tied to the clue helps the trapped mind, Theseus, to find the safe passage back, at the same time killing the lord of delusion.

If the myth has such an esoteric dimension and if, indeed, there is a key-word able to free the mind from its self-created labyrinth, the Ariadne’s clue should delineate the qualities of the key. In the myth, Ariadne, been in love with Theseus, decides to help him resolve the riddle of labyrinth by giving him the ‘clue’. In the myth, ‘Love’ appears to be the source of the clue and thus the key-word that once properly used releases the human mind from the deluded perception of the world.
